The Art of Storytelling: Melissa Rolli’s Journey to Creative Excellence

Melissa Rolli is a U.S. Army Veteran, wife and mother to four boys. She holds dual bachelor’s degrees in English and History from the University of New Mexico and is a graduate of the Denver Publishing Institute. Melissa is a recovering journalist.  Melissa was a journalist for the Woodmen Edition and eventually became a masthead writer for the same. Her work also appeared in several local papers, including the Cheyenne Edition, and some of her articles and photography were syndicated to The Gazette, a Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper. Notable pieces include and Rising Professionals Seeks to Engage Young Voters with Competition, Wounded Warriors Cycle to AFA on Adapted Rides and KISS Honors Local Vets During Show.

In recent years, Melissa traded headlines for heartlines, leaving journalism behind to dive fully into creative writing. Her journalistic roots give her stories a sharp eye for detail, while her love of storytelling fills them with warmth, humor, and emotional depth. Her short fiction has appeared in several outlets, and her children’s chapter book series Cruise of a Lifetime is published under the pen name Lisa M. Rolli. Melissa recently finished writing her debut adult novel, blending her keen observation with a storyteller’s heart to create characters and narratives that stay with readers long after the last page. Details coming soon.

When she’s not writing, Melissa enjoys exploring the Colorado outdoors, photography, and reading.
